MEET OUR SERIES LEADER
Brent Roman is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, instructor, dance accompanist, recording artist, and an avid Chicago-based professional freelance performing musician. Mr. Roman has performed throughout the US and abroad and has worked with a multitude of professional performing companies, including Cirque Du Soleil (as Drum Captain and percussionist for two international touring shows; Alegria & Dralion), Trinity Irish Dance Co., Chicago Sinfonietta, and performs regularly in musicals with various theatre companies, including Paramount, Lookingglass and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. He has done grant work in China and South Korea and led masterclasses in China, Taiwan, Brazil, and Mexico. Brent is also a founding member of the Chicago circus-punk-gypsy marching band, Mucca Pazza, who has performed at Lalapalooza, Montreal Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center, and featured on Conan O’Brien and NPR’s Tiny Desk. He currently serves as seasonal Musical Director for the Chinese Fine Arts Society of Chicago. He serves as a resident composer, choreographer, and instructor for the Chinese Cheng Da Drum Team. He currently serves as music accompanist, sound designer, and composer for the Dance Division at New Trier High School.
