Arts & Hearts is a virtual and interactive art session using the Arts in Mind Method developed at the Yale University Art Gallery. This session will ignite creative expression while learning new ways to communicate.
This session is designed for individuals experiencing young-onset dementia, their carepartners, and families.

MEET OUR CLASS FACILITATORS
Angel Duncan – PhDc, MA, MFT, ATR
Angel Duncan has an extensive background in counseling psychology, art therapy, Alzheimer’s disease research, and neuroimaging biomarker diagnostics. She oversees education and training in Medical Life Sciences at Life Molecular Imaging and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa.
At the Yale University Art Gallery, Angel co-developed and co-facilitates the virtual Arts in Mind program for persons living with young-onset and early-stage dementia. She resides on the Board of Directors for the Cognitive Dynamics Foundation based in Alabama, also acting as their Executive Arts Director, and resides on the Medical Advisory Board for Lorenzo’s House. Jessica Sack
Jessica Sack is the Jan and Frederick Mayer Curator of Public Education at the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, CT. Since 2004, she has led the development of the Gallery’s school, youth, and family, teacher, and access programs. She directs the Wurtele Gallery Teachers, Yale graduate students who are trained to teach K–12 school groups. She also co-facilities Arts in Mind, a program for those with Young-Onset Alzheimer’s and their partners. Prior to coming to Yale, Jessica was a Senior Museum Educator and Coordinator of Teacher Services at the Brooklyn Museum. Jessica received her M.PHIL. in Ethnology and Museum Ethnography from the University of Oxford and an M.A. in Performance Studies from New York University.
