2023 Lorenzo's Youth Summit

An inspiring virtual event for young people who share similar journeys

A free single day virtual event that will unite children, teens and young adults across the country and globe with a parent/guardian with younger-onset dementia.

Our life at home turned upside down when my Dad was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s. I understand how tough it is for families to live this disease. I lost so much of my dad it seemed like overnight and no one understood my new life. My mom decided to start Lorenzo’s House out of the love she has for my Dad, my brother and me. It’s a place where families can heal and those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias can get really good and interesting care.

As an extension of Lorenzo’s House, I suggested to my mom that we create a place for youth, specifically those with a parent diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s. Too many young carepartners, with a parent or guardian diagnosed are alone, quietly struggling and need support. This is the roots of Lorenzo’s Youth Summit: a place where youth come together – to be united, heard and inspired.
