“Brain change showed up in our home when I was nine years old. Our life changed when my Dad was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s. I understand how tough it is for a family to live with this condition. It felt like overnight I lost so much of my Dad and no one understood my new life. My Mom decided to start Lorenzo’s House because families like our really have no place to belong.”

“When my Mom was designing the vision for Lorenzo’s House, I suggested we create a place for youth, specifically those with a parent with younger-onset dementia of any form. Too many young carers feel misunderstood, alone and struggle inside. So this is the roots of Lorenzo’s Youth Summit – the hope for a brave safe place where youth walking a similar experience come together – to be united, heard and inspired by one another.”
